Whether your dog is getting the Bathing Beauties bath package or a New ‘Doo’ including a haircut, we will check their nails to see if they require a trim. It is important to keep nails trimmed so that the quick does not continue to grow longer, making it impossible to keep the nail healthy and short.
Unattended to nails can grow so long that the tendons and bones in the foot are affected, and may grow in a circle and dig into the foot pad. We recommend a good trim every 4-6 weeks to keep the nails healthy. It may be that not all nails require a trim, particularly on the rear legs. Some dogs will naturally wear their nails down when they walk and dig. Not all dogs have dew claws, but we will check for them and trim them as well.
